Murillo, Bartolomè Esteban
Bartolome Esteban Murillo (1617-1682) was a Spanish Baroque painter. He is especially admired for his religious paintings, devotional images of the Virgin, and scenes of childhood and charity. His art is marked by softness of modeling, warm light, and a gracious emotional appeal that made him one of the most beloved painters of the Spanish Golden Age.
