Bruegel, Pieter - The younger
Pieter Brueghel the Younger (Brussels, 1564/1565 - Antwerp, 1637/1638) was a Flemish painter, son of Pieter Bruegel the Elder. He became famous both for repeating and disseminating compositions derived from his father and for creating lively independent scenes of peasant life, winter landscapes, and moral subjects. His workshop played a major role in preserving and popularizing the Bruegel tradition.
