Domenico Ghirlandaio, born Domenico Bigordi (Florence, 1448 or 1449 - Florence, 11 January 1494), was an Italian painter and one of the leading masters of Florentine Quattrocento art. He is celebrated for monumental fresco cycles populated by vivid portraits and clear narrative structure. His workshop was among the most important in Florence and included the young Michelangelo.
