Potthast, Edward Henri

Edward Henry Potthast (Cincinnati, 10 June 1857 - New York, 9 March 1927) was an American painter associated with Impressionism. He is especially known for bright beach scenes, park subjects, and leisure imagery animated by flickering brushwork and cheerful light. His mature art brought an Impressionist sensibility to modern American life.
