Frieseke, Frederick Carl

Frederick Carl Frieseke (1874-1939) was an American Impressionist painter. He is especially known for sunlit garden scenes, interiors, and female figures bathed in decorative color and filtered light. Although American by birth, much of his mature work was shaped by the artistic environment of France.
