Seurat, Georges

Seurat, Georges
Georges Seurat (Paris, 2 December 1859 - Paris, 29 March 1891) was a French painter and the founder of Neo-Impressionism. Through a rigorous method based on color theory and carefully organized brushstrokes, he developed the technique later known as Pointillism. His art unites scientific structure with remarkable stillness and poetic intensity.
