Tiepolo, Giambattista

Giambattista Tiepolo (Venice, 1696 - Madrid, 1770) was one of the greatest Venetian painters of the eighteenth century. He is renowned above all for his grand fresco decorations, marked by luminous color, theatrical invention, and extraordinary ease of execution. His work represents one of the highest achievements of the late Baroque and Rococo traditions.
