Bellini, Giovanni

Giovanni Bellini (c. 1430-1516) was one of the founding masters of Venetian Renaissance painting. His art transformed the use of color, atmosphere, and sacred space, giving devotional images a new depth and poetic calm. He had a profound influence on generations of Venetian painters, including Giorgione and Titian.
