Grant Wood

Grant Wood (Anamosa, 13 February 1891 - Iowa City, 12 February 1942) was an American painter and one of the leading figures of Regionalism. He is best known for American Gothic, but his broader work celebrates the landscapes, people, and cultural identity of the American Midwest through a highly recognizable and deliberate style.
