Toulouse-Lautrec, Henri

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) was a French painter, draftsman, and printmaker. He became the great visual chronicler of Montmartre, cabarets, cafes, and Parisian nightlife in the fin de siecle period. His posters, paintings, and drawings combine sharp observation, psychological insight, and a highly original graphic style.
