Salmson, Hugo

Hugo Salmson (Stockholm, 7 July 1843 - Paris, 1894) was a Swedish painter active largely in France. He worked on genre scenes, portraits, and rural subjects, combining academic training with a direct interest in humble daily life. His paintings are often marked by sensitive characterization and clear narrative feeling.
