Guillaumin, Jean-Baptiste

Jean-Baptiste Armand Guillaumin (Paris, 16 February 1841 - Orly, 26 June 1927) was a French painter and lithographer and an important member of the Impressionist movement. A friend of Cezanne and Pissarro, he took part in the artistic ferment that reshaped modern painting in France. He was especially appreciated for the intensity of his color and for his views of Paris, the Creuse region, and the landscapes around the Esterel in Provence. His work had a notable impact on several of his contemporaries.
