Schmidtner, Johann Georg

Johann Georg Schmidtner (c. 1625 - c. 1705) was a German painter active in Bavaria. He is chiefly known for religious and allegorical subjects and for a style linked to the southern German Baroque tradition. His art combines devotional intensity with decorative clarity and regional character.
