Carlevarijs, Luca

Luca Carlevarijs (1663-1730) was an Italian painter and engraver active in Venice. He was one of the earliest important masters of Venetian view painting and helped establish the veduta tradition later perfected by Canaletto. His work combines topographical accuracy with an elegant sense of urban spectacle.
