Cassatt, Mary

Mary Cassatt (Allegheny City, 22 May 1844 - Le Mesnil-Theribus, 14 June 1926) was an American painter and printmaker who spent most of her career in France and became closely associated with Impressionism. She is especially admired for scenes of women and children rendered with psychological sensitivity, elegant design, and a refined treatment of light and color.
