Klee, Paul

Paul Klee (Muenchenbuchsee, 18 December 1879 - Muralto, 29 June 1940) was a Swiss-born German artist whose work spans painting, drawing, printmaking, and theory. Associated at different times with Expressionism, the Bauhaus, and Surrealist affinities, he developed a unique visual language of signs, color, rhythm, and imagination. He remains one of the most original figures in modern art.
